Here at Great Swim we're always looking at ways to improve your event day experience, so this year we're launching two new and exciting challenges at two of our established locations.

The Great North Swim Relay will take place from 2PM on Sunday 14th June, and will give teams of three the opportunity to compete in an exciting relay event, where each participant will take on a leg of the combined 2.8km distance.  Participants will split the distance into 3 legs, with two swimmers completing 1K each and the 3rd swimmer completing 800m, the minimum entry age.

The relay results will show overall team times including transition and individual swimmer split times.  Whether you're a competitive swimmer looking to test your speed over a shorter distance or you're new to open water swimming and you want take part with a team, the Great North Swim Team Relays are a fantastic addition to the existing Great North Swim programme.

Entries are £60 for a team of three and open now on the Great North Swim page.

In Suffolk, we're excited to announce the  launch of our first ever ‘Splash n Dash' aquathlon - a half-mile (800m) open water swim, followed by a 5km run around Alton Water reservoir. People can enter individually, or as a team of two, with one person taking on the swim and the other tackling the run.

It's the perfect challenge for budding triathletes or a good way to get none swimming friends and family involved in the Great East Swim experience.

The event will take place on Friday 19th June with the individual event beginning at 17:30 and the team event at 18:00. Entries are £30 per individual entry or £35 for a team of two. Entrants must be aged 12 or older to take part in the half-mile swim and age 16 or older for the run section, or to enter as an individual.

Entries for the Splash n Dash are also open on the Great East Swim page now
