Social Competition Terms & Conditions

Entry Terms & Conditions

This competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom and must be 18 years old or over.

The competition excludes employees or partners of The Great Run company and/or anyone professionally connected with the competition and their immediate families.

No purchase necessary and entry is free. Competition period starts at 12:00 on Monday 1st December 2025 GMT and runs until 23:59 on Sunday 21st December 2025.

There will be a total of 5 competitions that span across a 3 day period.

(For example, Competition Prize 1 will go live at 12:00 GMT on Monday 1st December and entries will close on Wednesday 3rd December at 23:59 GMT.)

How To Enter

For your chance to win, the competition post will prompt you to do the following.

• Follow Great North Swim on the social media platform you are entering on: @great_swim on Instagram
• Tag a friend in the comments of the social media post of the competition.
• Share the post on Instagram Stories for an extra entry
• You may also be requested to follow one of our commercial partners as part of the competition depending on the competition prize: @zone3official, @outdoorswimmer, @catch.swim, @greggs_official.

Competition Prizes

There will be a new competition prize on the following dates: 1st, 5th, 9th, 15th and 19th December 2025.

The competitions will run on Instagram ONLY, with one winner per competition.

One winner will be randomly selected from the comments of the competition post on Instagram. Each winner will receive one prize.

The following prizes will be selected each week.

1x Free Entry at the Great North Swim 2026*

**** Prize includes 1x Free Entry to the Great North Swim 2026 for a distance of your choice. Entry does not include travel or accommodation.

Entrants will be entered into a prize draw and selected at random from all entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions.

All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, there is no cash alternative and travel & accommodation is not included. In the unlikely event a prize should become unavailable, The Great Run Company reserves the right to substitute for an alternative prize of equal value.

The Great Run Company reserves the right to withdraw this promotion at any time without prior notice but this will not apply to any competition which has already started. The competition can be cancelled where entries have not yet commenced.

Competition Winner

The Great Run Company will contact the winner via either on the competition social post or via social media direct message within 2 working days of the competition closing.

Winners must claim their prize within two weeks of notification from The Great Run Company. If the prize is unclaimed after this period, The Great Run Company reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to an alternative entrant using the same selection method.

Please note the prize cannot be collected from The Great Run Company head offices.

Delivery of the prize will be organised by The Great Run Company direct to the winners free of charge.

The Great Run Company cannot guarantee delivery of prize pre-Christmas.

By entering this competition, you are agreeing to your name and entry to be published on Great Run digital channels and on this webpage, and that you are over 18 years of age.

If you change your mind, please inform us in writing and we will remove the imagery from further use.
